Facelift

Facelift or face lifting, also called rhytidectomy,is a plastic surgery procedure used to remove facial wrinkles, sagging skin, fat deposits or other visible signs of aging for cosmetic purposes. It also serves to reduce the telltale signs of aging and improve the overall appearance of the face and jaw area. The facelift can help reverse the harmful effects of time and continued stress.

A facelift can be an effective way to improve the appearance and raise self-confidence, but not for everyone. Patients whose skin is relatively flexible and have a good health in general achieve the best results. Some patients may achieve their goals with less invasive procedures, such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion. Others may be happier with the results if they combine face lift surgery with other treatments such as stretching of the neck or forehead (also called “browlift / forehead). Patients who understand both the possibilities and limitations facelift tend to be more comfortable with the results.
