Vein Treatment

The treatment aims to decrease the venous pressure in the legs.
Sclerotherapy provides a nonsurgical treatment for varicose veins and spider veins. This treatment is appropriate in patients with unsightly veins, or symptomatic, when the valves remain competent in the SFJ. A sclerosing agent is injected (a chemical salt that makes the vein unable to fill with blood.) After the injections, we apply some form of compression for a given time. Compression can range from an elastic bandage to support with pressure 30-40 mm Hg. The compression time varies from 24 hours to weeks, depending on the decision of the physician and the evolution of treatment.
